NYC Tech Event Cost Index

Conference budgets get set on vibes because nobody publishes what a ticket actually costs. We track New York tech and industry events for our own field sales, verify each date and price against the official registration page, and publish the aggregate.

The short answer

Across 74 tracked New York metro events, 34 have a price readable from their live registration page. Of those, 15% are free to attend, and the median paid ticket is $150. The spread is the real finding: the same city, the same month, ranges from a $0 meetup to a four-figure conference badge.

Methodology

  • Sample. 74 forward-looking New York metro technology, enterprise and industry events, assembled by our own event scout and reviewed by hand. 38 have had their date re-checked against the official listing.
  • Prices. Read from the live registration page, not estimated. A ranged price is indexed at its entry tier, because that is the number a buyer pays to get in the room. Events whose price is not published are counted in the tracked total and excluded from price statistics.
  • Limits. This is a working sales dataset, not a census: it skews toward events where enterprise engineering and operations buyers show up, and prices move with early-bird tiers. Generated 2026-08-27.

Make us a preferred source

Google lets you decide which publishers show up more often in Top stories. If our engineering benchmarks and open datasets are useful to you, mark NextGen Coding Company as a preferred source — it takes one click and it applies to your own results, not ours.

Note: preferred-source status is granted by readers inside Google, never by the publisher. What we control is eligibility — a dated news feed, a stable publisher identity, original reporting, and machine-readable data. All four are live on this site.
