Frequently asked questions

What does a five-field cron expression mean?
A standard cron expression has five fields: minute, hour, day of month, month, and day of week. For example, */15 9-17 * * MON-FRI means every 15 minutes during business hours on weekdays.
Does this support named months and weekdays?
Yes. You can use JAN-DEC for months and SUN-SAT for weekdays, including ranges such as MON-FRI and lists such as MON,WED,FRI.
How are day-of-month and day-of-week handled together?
When both fields are restricted, this parser follows common cron behavior and runs when either field matches. If one field is unrestricted, the restricted field controls the schedule.
Does this parser account for time zones?
The next-run preview uses your browser's local time zone. Production schedulers such as Kubernetes CronJob, GitHub Actions, and server cron may use UTC or a configured time zone.
